Regulation identifying procedures regarding investments in strategic sectors

The Decree of the President of the Republic of 19 February 2014 assigns to the Prime Minister the task of coordinating the activities for the exercise of the special powers in the defence and national security sector.

To this aim, the Prime Minister shall identify the governmental offices responsible for and involved in the coordination activities and shall establish a coordination group. He shall also fix the timing and modes of connection between the Ministries concerned and the modes and online procedures to ensure the timely exercise of the special powers and the security of the transmitted data. As to the procedures, the investigation and the proposal for the exercise of the special powers shall be assigned to the Ministry of Economy and Finance for the companies in which it holds shares, directly or by means of other companies in which it holds shares and to the Ministry of Defence or to the Ministry of Interior for the other companies.
