Tanzinia removed foreign ownership restrictions in the stock market

On 19 September 2014, the government announced "The Capital Markets and Securities (Foreign Investors Amendments) Regulations 2014". These Regulations allow unrestricted foreign participation in capital markets by repelling the Capital Markets Foreign Investors Regulations (2003), which capped foreign investors' participation in listed securities to 60%. The Regulations also provide for the conditions and manner in which foreign investors can participate in the capital markets and more specifically at the Dar Es Salaam Stock Exchange(DSE).
