Restricts land ownership by foreigners

The Government approved legislation on that limits land ownership by foreigners (both individuals and firms) to 15 percent of productive lands. The restriction applies to provinces and municipalities separately. Additionally, foreigners of the same nationality are not allowed to own more than 30 percent of the land available to foreigners. Finally, no single foreign person or firm is allowed to own more than 1000 hectares of land.
