Encourages education linkages with foreign partners

01 Aug 2018

In early June 2018, the Government issued a decree (No.86/2018/ND-CP) on regulating foreign cooperation and investment in education, including education linkages with foreign partners. Specifically, private kindergartens and schools in Vietnam could link up with legal and accredited educational establishments abroad. Their integrated curricula must be approved by the authorized agency, and the Minister of Education and Training will issue specific regulations on the integration of domestic and foreign curricula. Another salient point of the new decree is a provision on establishing a university in Vietnam. The new decree has entered into force on 1 August 2018.
