Amendment of the investment promotion law

The Complemental Financial Law 2018, adopted on 11 July 2018, repeals the second paragraph of Article 18 of Law No. 16-09 related to the promotion of investment. Article 18 of Law No. 16-09 includes the following provision: The national investment council is authorized to grant, in accordance with conditions fixed by regulation and for a period not surpassing five (5) years, exemptions or reductions of duties and taxes, including the value added tax applied to prices of goods produced as part of the emerging industrial activities.
