Final Rule, Definition of “Principal Place of Business”

On 27 August 2020, a Final Rule issued by the U.S. Department of Treasury clarifying revisions to the definition of “principal place of business” in the regulations of the Committee for Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) became effective. The Final Rule also adopts definitively an Interim Rule published by the U.S. Treasury on 29 April 2020, establishing fees for parties filing a formal written notice with CFIUS of a real estate transaction.
