Privatizes three airports

06 Feb 2012

The Government has raised R24.5 billion (US $14 billion) through the auction of three licenses to operate some of Brazil’s busiest airports. Invepar ACSA, a consortium led by local pension funds belonging to employees of state-run companies and including a South African airport operator, won the rights to operate Guarulhos, São Paulo’s international airport. A consortium led by the São Paulo-based construction company Engevix Engenharia won the bid for the airport of Brasília. Another consortium including Triunfo Participações e Investimentos (TPI) and France's EGIS Airport Operation won the concession for Viracopos in Campinas (São Paulo state). The new operators are expected to invest a total of R16.1 billion in the three airports over the next 20 to 30 years.
