New Investment Ministry established

28 Apr 2021

On April 28, 2021, the Government of Indonesia established a new Ministry of Investment. The Ministry of Investment is the result of upgrading the bureaucratic status of the Investment Coordinating Board (Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal – BKPM) — a government agency mandated to boost domestic and foreign direct investments (FDI) — into a fully-fledged government ministry. A key goal of the reform is to enhance the ease of doing business in the country.
