Reduces the minimum capital requirement by 60%

On 30 May 2022, on occasion of the presentation of the annual budget for the fiscal year 2022-23, that begins in mid-July, the Government of Nepal stated that the minimum threshold for foreign direct investment (FDI) will be reduced to NPR20 million ($160,760), down from the current NPR50 million ($401,900), in order to attract additional foreign investment, including in small and medium-sized enterprises.
