Withdraws some tax incentives for foreign investors

11 Jul 2022

On 11 July 2022, Kazakhstan amended the Tax Code. Several amendments affect foreign investors, including: - The deductibility of certain payments made to a related intra-group party will be limited; - The dividend withholding tax exemption that was available to foreign shareholders will be replaced with a preferential rate of 10 per cent subject to some conditions; - The exemption from income tax on dividends and interests for foreign companies owning locally listed securities is cancelled unless there are active trades in such securities.

The changes will enter into force on 1 January 2023.
