Expands the list of strategic sectors and activities subject to FDI screening

On 28 June 2022, the Russian Federation amended its FDI screening regime by including additional sectors to the list of activities strategic for national security. These include: (a) activities related to the analysis of the vulnerability of fuel and energy complex facilities, including the analysis of the socio-economic consequences in the event of the unlawful acts on these facilities; (b) activities that ensure the physical protection of fuel and energy complex facilities. These provisions will enter into force on 26 December 2022.
