Adopts new Startup visa scheme for high-tech and innovative projects

On 7 October 2022, the Council of Ministers adopted Ordinance No.318 on the terms and conditions for the issuance, extension, and withdrawal of a certificate for high-tech and/or innovative projects called “Startup Visa”. It should facilitate the access to long-term residence in Bulgaria for third-country nationals who want to start innovative businesses using high-end technologies and producing high added value products. It is expected to bring experienced specialists from abroad, new know-how, new technologies and practices, and create new jobs for locals. The ordinance entered into force on 14 October 2022.
