Amends investment Promotion Act to encourage foreign investors

10 Apr 2024

On 28 March 2024, the National Assembly of Slovenia approved amendments to the Investment Promotion Act, aimed at encouraging foreign investment. Key revisions include allowing investors to apply for incentives before registering a company or branch in Slovenia, provided that the registration is completed before receiving the incentive. Additionally, foreign companies based in the European Union can now access incentives by registering a branch in Slovenia, without the need to establish a new company. The Act also mandates that the relevant public authority retain documentation related to the incentives for 10 years. These amendments took effect on 10 April 2024.
