Adopts the fifteenth sanction package against the Russian Federation

16 Dec 2024

On 16 December 2024, the European Union adopted its 15th sanctions package against the Russian Federation. Key measures include actions to prevent circumvention of the oil price cap, such as imposing port access bans and service restrictions on 52 additional vessels, raising the total to 79 listed vessels. The package also adds 54 individuals and 30 entities to the European Union’s asset freeze list, targeting the energy, defense, and shipping sectors, along with six Chinese entities.
