Adopts Investment Act 2010

25 Nov 2010

Seychelles adopted investment Act 2010, on 25 November 2010 which repeals the 2005 Investment Code, establishes the Seychelles Investment Board, and protects the rights of investors, both domestic and foreign. A Competency Authority is now to be appointed by the Minister to process and approve applications of investment projects, at the exception of a few. It reserves certain economic activities for domestic investors, while opening to all investors "strategic nature", subject to conditions imposed by the government "in the public interest". It defines the investment areas under two categories namely "strategic" and "restricted".
