Adopt Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment (General) Regulation 2010

15 Apr 2010

Zimbabwe adopted the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment (General) Regulation 2010 (Statutory Instrument 21 of 2010) in March 2010. Inter alia, it requires companies operating in Zimbabwe to provide specified information to the Minister of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment, including an indigenisation implementation plan, by 15 April 2010. The information, together with responses from all sectors of the Zimbabwe economy, will be used as the basis for determining what foreign ownership ceiling below 51 percent shall apply to any sector or subsector and the maximum period for achieving indigenization.
