Report on the Implementation of the Investment Policy Review of Ecuador
The IPR of Ecuador, published by UNCTAD in 2001, analyzed the main bottlenecks to competitiveness, foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction and economic diversification. In addition to improving the regulatory framework for FDI and establishing investment promotion programmes, it recommended fostering infrastructure development and supporting the local private sector, including through the strengthening of innovation and skills. The report on the Implementation of the IPR of Ecuador reviews the progress made in these areas, including the initiatives taken in recent years to diversify the economy and foster sustainable development prospects. It ends with key recommendations to further improve the business environment and support the attraction of investment.
