Report on the implementation of the Investment Policy Review of the Dominican Republic

The IPR of the Dominican Republic outlined reforms aimed at diversifying and deriving more benefits from FDI. Since 2008, many were implemented and led to higher value added. Reforms include enshrining investment protection and non-discrimination in legislation, modernizing the Commercial Code, digitalizing the land registry and strengthening investment promotion. Nonetheless, gaps in competition policy, taxation, and infrastructure concessions still need to be addressed.
