Investment Policy Monitor No. 3
The Investment Policy Monitor provides policymakers and the international investment community with up-to-date information about the latest developments and salient features in foreign investment policies.
This Monitor is the third of a new series launched by the UNCTAD secretariat in order to provide policymakers and the international community with up-to-date information about the latest developments and salient features in foreign investment policies at the national and international level. It covers measures taken in the period between April and the beginning of October 2010.
The review period witnessed an on-going trend towards more investment liberalization, facilitation and promotion. At least 41 countries or economies adopted policy measures affecting foreign investment, with countries in Asia being particularly active. At the same, numerous countries adopted policies to strengthen the role of the state in the economy.
