Enacts the International Arbitration Act 2017

On 15 September 2017, the Parliament passed the International Arbitration Act 2017. The Act makes provisions for the conduct of international arbitration based on the model law adopted by the 'United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL)'. The Act implements the United Nations Convention on Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards 1958 (also known as 'New York Convention'), which Fiji ratified in 2010.
