Identifies 11 State-owned enterprises for privatisation

On 27 November 2023, the Ministry of National Treasury and Economic Planning in Kenya announced the privatisation of 11 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) as part of the 2023 Privatisation Programme, aligning with Section 21 (1) of the Privatisation Act 2023.

The enterprises earmarked for privatisation include the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), New Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC), Kenya Seed Company Limited (KSC), National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOCK), Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB), Western Kenya Rice Mills Ltd (WKRM), Numerical Machining Complex Limited (NMC), 35 per cent of Vehicle Manufacturers Limited (KVM), Rivatex East Africa Limited (REAL), and Mwea Rice Mills Ltd (MRM).
