Launches the 'National Privatization Strategy'

On 29 January 2026, Saudi Arabia announced the National Privatization Strategy, expanding the public-private partnership (PPP) programme under the Privatization Law of 2021. The strategy aims to attract SAR (Saudi Riyal) 240 billion (approximately $64 billion) in private investment by 2030.

Previously, PPP projects were concentrated in sectors such as energy and water. The new strategy broadens the scope to include service sectors such as healthcare, education, municipal services, and defence. It also introduces standardized guidelines to harmonize PPP procedures across government entities and streamline administrative processes.

The strategy includes 42 initiatives and targets the conclusion of over 220 PPP contracts by 2030.
