The agreement is provisionally applied as of 21 September 2017. The provisional application is limited to certain chapters and provisions (click here for more information). As to chapter 8 of the agreement (Investment), only the following provisions shall be provisionally applied, and only in so far as foreign direct investment is concerned: — Articles 8.1 to 8.8, — Article 8.13, — Article 8.15, with the exception of paragraph 3 thereof, and — Article 8.16.

The IIA Facilitation Mapping provides information on the investment facilitation-related content of IIAs. It is a tool to support countries in the negotiation and implementation of their IIA-based investment facilitation commitments ‐ it offers an overview of different policy approaches, each country's commitments, and easy access to treaty language for peer-to-peer learning.
