Australia implements regulations on outward FDI restrictions relating to Russia, the Crimea and Sevastopol

Australian sanctions against Russia have entered into force on 31 March 2015. They contain a broad range of restrictions on Australian investment in Russia, the Crimea and Sevastopol. Australian nationals and registered companies are prohibited from granting any financial loan or credit, or establishing joint ventures related to the establishment, acquisition or development of an enterprise in one or more of the following sectors: 1) transportation, 2) telecommunications, 3) energy, and 4) exploitation of oil, gas and mineral reserves. The Australian government can grant a sanction's permit in the national interest.
