Government expands visa-free regime for nationals of countries investing significantly in Kazakhstan

19 May 2015

Under the presidential decree of 19 May 2015, the government will extend visa-free status to Malaysia, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, and to all 34 member states of the OECD. Citizens of these countries will be able to enter Kazakhstan without visas for stays of up to 30 days at a time. The government has not yet set the start date for the visa-free status. The decree extends and expands the government's existing pilot scheme offering visa-free status to ten countries that invest significantly in Kazakhstan. The scheme began in July 2014 for an initial period of one year. Citizens from these ten states can enter Kazakhstan for up to 15 days at a time without visas.
