Creates a new Special Economic Zone

On September 23, 2021, the Official Gazette (Vol. XLI No. 68) published a licence order granting the creation of a new Special Economic Zone on the Island of Antigua, called the Western Imperial Special Economic Zone (WISEZ).

Taxes levied in Antigua and Barbuda shall not be applicable in the Zone. The entities operating there will benefit from waivers, covering: personal and corporate income taxes; gift and inheritance taxes; VAT, capital gains and sales tax; sales, operations and development taxes and duties; import and export duties and taxes on household effects and belongings of all residents and staff of the Zone; export and import duties and taxes for commercial activities.
